Day 1: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival at your hotel, ask the receptionist for your Intrepid welcome pack. It includes a welcome letter, trip itinerary, tickets, feedback card, and country info. You might leave your main luggage in Hanoi (check with your hotel) and bring only essentials.

Your adventure begins around 8:30-8:45 am, or earlier if staying in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Travel by minibus for 3.5 hours to Halong Bay. Experience the morning streets of Hanoi before cruising through countryside to the bay. Board a traditional junk-style boat and sail into the bay’s emerald waters. Enjoy lunch with stunning views.

Explore Surprise Cave, followed by kayaking or relaxing on deck. Dinner and stargazing await onboard before drifting off to the gentle waves.

Day 2: Halong Bay – Hanoi

Wake up to the serene beauty of the bay. Consider joining a Tai Chi class on the top deck. Explore secluded spots in the morning. By noon, the junk heads back to the dock for the journey back to Hanoi. Transfer by boat to the mainland where your vehicle awaits. The return trip to Hanoi takes about 3.5 hours. Your Halong Bay Junk Cruise concludes upon arrival in Hanoi around 1:30 pm. You’ll be dropped off at your Hanoi Old Quarter hotel or a nominated location.
